Space Key is being developed in collaboration with a non-disclosed artist, and based on cutting-edge carbon fiber composite materials that were shipped to the International Space Station as research material, is a new project that has been revealed by Lamborghini.

Developed in collaboration NFT PRO(tm).

Lamborghini, the Italian car manufacturer has taken the first step into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The latest project, named the Space Key, is a work that was created in collaboration with an unknown artist. The NFT is an exclusive piece of digital art that can be accessable via a QR code. The project is a limited edition and will be auctioned off over the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made from a carbon fiber composite material which Lamborghini shipped to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of research project. The carbon fiber was crafted into a unique artwork when it returned to Earth. The physical component is embossed with an NFT serial number, which is tied to the digital artwork with a QR code that is located on the back.

NFTs, for those who are not familiar, are unique identifiers that are recorded on an open ledger on the blockchain and linked to an digital asset such as a photograph or video, song or any other type of record. This lets owners ensure the authenticity, scarcity, and the trackability of their tokens through the internet.

Working with NFT PRO, a white-label NFT solution for businesses, Lamborghini has taken this unique approach to art to the next level. In the coming weeks, Lamborghini will release details about this exciting venture. This will include the names of the artists who are unknown and a schedule for auction.

The physical element of Space Key

Following multiple social media posts teasing something that was space-related, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has stepped into the realm of tokens that aren't fungible (NFT) with an exclusive project dubbed Space Key. Created in collaboration with an unidentified artist, the NFT is a collectible item that will be auctioned off in just a few weeks. The core of the NFT is a piece made of carbon fiber composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019 as part an ongoing research project. The carbon fiber has been 3D printed to create the base of each Space Key, which is linked with an exclusive, entirely digital artwork via an QR code on its backside. Just five Space Keys have been produced.

NFTs are unique identifiers that are recorded on distributed ledgers, such as the Blockchain and tied to digital assets such as images. They're the latest trend for those with more money than sense So it was only a matter time before an automaker decided to capitalize on the trend.

Space Key is made up of five parts. It was made with a carbon fiber composite. It was sent to the ISS in the year 2019. Each NFT will have an QR code that will link it to a special digital art work by the same artist. More details will be revealed in the coming days and weeks including the name of the artist as well as the digital artwork, and the method of purchasing one of the five Space Keys.

The digital artwork

After weeks of social media posts that hinted at it, luxury automobile maker Lamborghini finally announced its first venture for tokens that are non-fungible (NFT). It's called the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock a unique digital art work NFT by a yet-to-be-identified artist. The "collectors' piece" was created in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to just five units.  The Key Lab  will be auctioned off soon.

The core of each Space Key is a block made of the most advanced carbon fire composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research project. After returning to Earth it was imprinted with a QR code that links it to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that occurs at different times as the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Each of the five images was taken by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera to take each of the individual shots which were then combined into the final image. The result is a photograph that is out of this world. It captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic picture of a car rising away from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, however the exact date and time of the event haven't been set yet.

The auction

With the tagline 'to the moon', the prestigious automobile maker Lamborghini has entered the realm of non-fungible tokens (NFT) by launching a hypnotic project in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm). The Space Key is essentially an NFT that contains carbon fiber composite material that actually was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 for research purposes. The actual sample has been cut into five distinct objects that connect to exclusive, digital artworks created by an undisclosed artist via the QR code printed on their backs.

The auctions, which be held between February 1 until February 4, last for 75 hours and 50 minutes, the same time it took for Apollo 11 to leave Earth and enter the lunar orbit. The five NFTs can be bought by signing up online. Each one will be auctioned separately and the winner will receive a digital image created by renowned photographer Fabian Oefner, which captures the five distinct moments the Space Key passed during its journey through space.

Full details about the Space Key and its accompanying digital artworks will be announced over the next weeks including the identity of the unidentified artist as well as information on how to purchase these extraordinary creations. Follow Lamborghini on Instagram for all the information you need!
